Retraining of Racehorses

WHAT THEY DO

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing. They fund from within the Racing Industry for the retraining and rehoming of former racehorses, providing a safety net for ‘vulnerable’ former racehorses

The ultimate goal is to maintain a balance between the number of horses leaving Racing and the number of enthusiastic, and suitable, new homes.

WHY WE LOVE THEM

Not only does the charity provide an infrastructure to oversee horse welfare and to help racehorses have a fulfilling second career, RoR also educates and provides opportunities across a range of equestrian sports. By partnering with governing bodies and key organisations, RoR has established a programme of competitions across equestrian sport that demonstrate the value of former racehorses and encourages people to get involved with these amazing animals, promoting their adaptability and versatility in other equestrian activities.

WHAT THEY SAY

"As a charity, RoR recognises that looking after horses is more than a hobby; it’s a lifestyle that demands dedication and hard work. Retraining a former racehorse requires dedication and patience and we are delighted to be collaborating with Honest Riders who have created a brand of leisurewear that recognises our busy lifestyles, whilst remaining true to their core values of passion, functionality and style throughout the range.  Together, RoR and Honest Riders make a great fit."
