This product is a tack room blessing. Rich in natural nutrients, this little gem will bring even the crustiest leather back to life. We use it after our tack has been worn in the rain (after it's dried) and the result is beautifully soft, pliable, protected leather. This leather balm offers a truly exceptional finish for your precious tack.

Did you know that traditional saddle soap contains glycerin – this one ingredient can cause a whole host of issues for your valuable tack.
That’s because glycerin attracts water. ‘Great’ You might think. ‘I want it to be moisturised and supple’. But actually it’s not good for your tack long-term and here’s why…

It can actually cause your tack to go mouldy! By attracting moisture to the leather, you’ll notice it goes mouldy within weeks if it’s stored somewhere even slightly damp. To prevent this, choose a balm which contains an anti-germicidal ingredient. Our Leather Balm contains the ultimate natural anti-germicidal ingredient - Beeswax! (Just make sure it’s ethically sourced beeswax)
It’s not been pH balanced for modern-tanned leather. The outcome, once again is too much moisture which can build up a residue on your precious tack.
Glycerin is a sticky substance that can act like a sealant. When included in a leather soap/balm, the glycerin sticks to the very leather you are trying to clean, trapping dirt and grime within the pores and fibers. Plus, that leftover residue of glycerin-dirt-gunk keeps attracting more and more dirt. Talk about counterproductive!
